Reduce the Noise: Voting for World Culinary Awards now open to the public

The World Culinary Awards awards were launched in 2022 as a sister event to the prestigious World Travel Awards, which has been awarding excellence in the hospitality, travel, and tourism industries since 1994. For organisers, the World Culinary Awards “serve to celebrate and reward excellence in the culinary industry” through recognition of the efforts made by all those working to secure precision and perfection at their various restaurants.

This year’s World Culinary Awards see Dubai cuisine heavily represented among the nominees with some of our favourite restaurants, including Fi'lia, Il Ristorante by Niko Romito, Orfali Bros Bistro, Stay by Yannick Alleno, and Trèsind Studio in the running for a win.

Dubai-based restaurants dominated the international categories of last year’s ceremony, with winners including: At.Mosphere Burj Khalifa for World's Best Landmark Restaurant 2022; CÉ LA VI @ Address Sky View as World's Best Rooftop Restaurant 2022; SushiSamba, Dubai (UAE) as World's Best New Restaurant 2022; and Asil @ Rixos Premium Dubai named World's Best Middle Eastern Cuisine Restaurant 2022.

2022 winners in the Dubai-focused categories included: COYA Dubai for Dubai's Best Restaurant 2022; Al Muntaha @ Burj Al Arab as Dubai's Best Hotel Restaurant 2022; and Ossiano Restaurant @ Atlantis The Palm for Dubai's Best Culinary Experience 2022.

With an uncomplicated voting process, the Awards encourage diners and professionals to reflect on their favourite experiences and restaurants and vote through the website.

Before registering to vote, diners and industry professionals should first read the How to Vote guide and the Voting Rules instruction pages.

For public votes, rules stipulate that voters must be at least 13 years old, use their email address or Facebook login, and can not be an “employee, agent or representative of WM&E, or any of their respective parent companies, affiliate or related companies”.

Votes by industry professionals are weighted five times the public vote, and industry profiles will be vetted by the WM&E before registration is complete. Professionals must also complete the Industry Voter fields on the Sign Up page, work for a company or organisation from one of the Industries listed on the registration form, and are required to use their company emails and contacts.

Winners are determined through the online voting process, with trophies and award plagues presented during the awards ceremony at the end of July.

The 2023 Dubai voting categories are focused on Best Restaurant; Best Beach Restuarant; Best Hotel Restaurant; and the overall Best Culinary Experience.
