Silwood School of Cookery celebrates 60 years. Africa's best chefs school founded in 1964 by Lesley Faull, Commanderie des Cordons Bleus de France, offers a broad based culinary education equipping our graduates with the classic skills required in top international kitchens.
Over the past 60 years, Silwood has earned itself a world-class reputation, boasting student achievements unmatched by any other cookery school in the country.
Built on passion, devotion and skill, through three generations of women. Silwood has remained a family-run business. Lesley’s daughter, Alicia Wilkinson, Commanderie des Cordons Bleus de France, is the present Principal of the school, assisted by her daughter Chef Carianne Wilkinson, International Restaurant Judge and registered Occupational Certificate: CHEF, Trade Assessment Practitioner. Silwood has an award-winning status and a global reputation for producing international top chefs.
Silwood School of Cookery received this prestige’s title ‘Africa’s Best Culinary Training Institution’ at the World Culinary 5th Annual Awards Ceremony that took place in October 2024, in Dubai. Silwood is proud to have also been awarded this title in 2022 and 2023.
